Job Description

The Manager, Accounts Receivable is responsible for the analysis and interpretation of financial reports and data and for collection management on new and existing accounts. The position oversees the billing, collections, and cash application of the company’s invoices to customers. The Manager, Accounts Receivable ensures the proper invoicing, collection of all late or skipped payments, and appropriate cash application of all receipts. This position reports directly to the Assistant Controller.

The hired candidate may be hybrid in our Danvers, MA office, or work remotely residing in the Eastern time zone.

What you'll be doing:

  • Manage staff of 4 including daily workflow, prioritization, coaching, performance management and professional development
  • Direct collection of all receivables US and International. Manage DSO for all products at a minimum of budgeted days. Administers settlement agreements including partial payments, time extensions and write-offs
  • Develop, implement and monitor alternative payment plans for delinquent customer accounts. Collaborate with sales and other revenue generating business units to investigate and assess client credit risks
  • Process account adjustments and write-offs, negotiating with customers to establish appropriate payment terms. Assist with accurate and timely cash applications.
  • Identify and communicate account concerns to management. Research and recommend business process improvements to minimize potential collection issues
  • Generate appropriate reports regarding collection efforts, adjustments, invoice updates, and maintain related customer files
  • Responsible for the monthly reconciliation and invoicing out of the RightFind system
  • Assists in drafting and updating AR policies
  • Responsible for Monthly Metric for Aging/Unapplied Cash, forecasting cash collections, account reconciliations and month-end close journal entries
  • Provide support for Interim and Year End Audits

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree Business/Accounting
  • 8 years related work experience with 5 years leadership experience
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to motivate and energize others
  • Extensive knowledge of credit and collections concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced Excel capabilities
  • General knowledge of ERP systems; Salesforce and Oracle experience a plus
