CopperPoint Insurance Companies is Hiring a Claims Quality Assurance Specialist Near Seattle, WA

As a member of the Alaska National Insurance Company's Property & Casualty (P&C) claims department, you will conduct quality assurance (QA) reviews of P&C insurance claim files to ensure the claims handling practices comply with company policies and legal requirements. You will communicate the results of your claim reviews to claims supervisors and provide feedback and recommendations. This role plays an integral part in providing and maintaining a superior work product to our internal and external customers through claim reviews.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assists in the development of the QA program for the P&C claims department and identifies opportunities for improvement of the QA program.
  • Reviews automobile, general liability, commercial property, and inland marine claims based on established checklists to ensure claims handling complies with departmental goals and procedures.
  • Documents results of claim reviews and communicates the results to management through monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Analyzes key indicators and data to identify opportunities to improve proactive claims handling and overall operations performance.
  • Provides management with subjective impressions of claims trends and adherence to best practices.
  • Makes recommendations to management based on the results of claim reviews, including process changes, training opportunities, or corrective action.
  • Communicates and reinforces departmental goals, assists team members in achieving established annual goals, and maintains metrics relating to team and individual goals.
  • Assists in responding to Department of Insurance complaints and working with state regulators and examiners as needed.
  • Acts as a liaison between P&C Claims and Risk Management Executives for account service meetings and preparation of claim reports and related documents.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Competencies:
  • Prior experience in quality assurance and compliance, or 7 years of adjusting automobile, general liability, commercial property, and inland marine insurance claims.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience with PowerBI data visualization software is a plus.
  • Prior experience with insurance quality assurance software is a plus.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred, but equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • Completion of and continued pursuit of industry designations is preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and remotely, as needed, in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage the demands of the position and to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Detail oriented.
Salary Range:
  • $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 annually
  • Compensation may vary depending on skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
  • In addition to base salary, compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus.

  • Employees will accrue 0.0769 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) per paid hour, which may total 20 days a year. In addition, employees will also receive 10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
