We are looking for someone with manufacturing and bakery experience to be the next Plant Operations Manager of our Chesapeake, Virginia facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Oversees all aspects of Plant Management, responsible for leading and supporting all areas of the facility
• Works with the team to meet budget and that the overall company goals are clearly understood by all managers
• Empowers the team with the proper resources and information so that they are capable of achieving the Company’s goals
• Ensures that the Operating Budget is executed and the profit objectives are achieved
• Maintains a high level of communication with management, employees, customers, and key suppliers in order to maintain a perspective on industry and markets
• Executes weekly staff meetings to obtain feedback on performance, operational issues, and goals; ensures that all other required meetings are consistently held and participate as required
• Reviews monthly and year-to-date financial statements to evaluate overall company performance and to ascertain remedial management actions necessary to achieve company goals
• Hire, train, motivate and manage competent management personnel as needed
• Performs annual performance evaluations for all direct reports and ensures that evaluation procedures are executed by all other managers
• Ensures that all company policies and procedures are documented and communicated clearly; ensures compliance with such policies and procedures
• Oversee production planning to make sure the proper amount of resources are in place to meet customer expectations and demands.
• Ultimate responsibility for employee safety, product quality and food safety.
• Being that we are a fresh bakery manufacturer, our customers require that we make and ship fresh bakery items every day. By its nature, our business has a very strong dependence on the reliability of our team members 365 days a year.
• All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements

• This position reports directly to the Director of Operations and interacts with all members of the management team
• Strong organization and communication skills required

Education/Experience

• Extensive knowledge of baking and bakery manufacturing
• Minimum of 7-10 years of management experience in manufacturing (preferred)
• Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field (preferred)
