Maintain and provide for the safe condition and operation of allelectrical systems and fixtures in district facilities.QualificationsEducation/Certification:Valid master's electrician licenseValid Texas driver's licenseSpecial Knowledge/SkillsKnowledge of electrical circuits and wiring; and operating principles of motorsAbility to read blueprints and schematics,Ability to preform mathematical calculationsAbility to diagnose and resolve problemsKnowledge of electrical codeExperienceEight years experience in electrical fieldMajor Responsibilities And Duties

• Design, install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and equipment; computer network

systems; alarm systems; and ventilation systems.

• Locate and diagnose trouble in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment, using electrical

testing instruments and equipment.

• Perform any combination of measures, cuts, and bends in wire and conduit using ruler and hand

tools.

• Repair in place or replace defective equipment such as motors, relays, overload switches, knife

switches, and thermostats.

• Repair or replace electrical appliances including commercial ovens, ranges, steam tables,

washers, dryers, etc.

• Operate equipment and tools following established safety procedures; perform preventive

maintenance and repairs.

• Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection

procedures.

• Respond to emergency calls as needed.
• Measure, assemble, and install electrical conduit using measuring devices, hand tools, pipe threader,

and conduit bender.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDirect the work of electrician helper.Equipment UsedMeters, pipe benders, hand and power tools (saw, drills, etc.) trencher, jackhammer, concrete saw,ladder, etc.). Operates light truck or van.Working ConditionsMental Demands:Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference material; follow written and verbalinstructions; perform mathematical calculations; and diagnose and resolve electrical problems.Physical Demands/Environmental FactorsFrequent districtwide travel. Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling,and reaching; heavy lifting and carrying. Ability to operate, hand tools and power tools. Work intiring and uncomfortable positions and around electrical power lines. Work outside and inside;exposed to extreme temperatures.
