Chief People and Culture Officer
Rochester, New York [Hybrid if located in Western or Central New York and the Finger Lakes Region]

FULL-TIME: [Exempt]: 40 of hours

Pay Range: $165,000 - $175,000 annually

ABOUT THE POSITION: In this newly created position, the Chief People and Culture Officer will spearhead the development and implementation of a cohesive, dynamic, and inclusive culture and human resources strategy across the organization. As a member of CCSI’s Executive Leadership team, you will drive measurable results in employee recruitment and retention, staff engagement, learning and development, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. You will support the successful execution of CCSI’s 3-year strategy, working together with leaders in our core business areas to support our continued growth and evolution, inspiring a values-based culture, and leading change management within the organization.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: To be successful as the CCSI Chief People and Culture Officer, you will be:

  • Passionate about CCSI’s mission to support organizations delivering critical programs and services that address complex human needs, build healthy communities, and strengthen the social care sector.
  • Experienced in successfully leading large organizations through transformational change.
  • Practiced in data literacy; be able to explore, understand, and communicate with data in a meaningful way across multiple stakeholders.
  • Curious and dedicated to cultivating an inclusive and engaging learning environment – seeking out and sharing advances in practice to support continuous improvement.
  • Experienced and highly skilled in leading, inspiring, and motivating diverse teams toward the successful execution of organizational priorities and strategies.
  • Deeply committed to shared leadership and a collaborative and transparent approach.
  • Highly developed in your emotional intelligence.

Specific Areas of Focus:

Strategy and Planning:

  • Leads the development and execution of CCSI’s People and Culture Strategy.

Leadership, Management, and Administration:

  • Oversees the organization’s Human Resources, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging, Wellness, Learning & Development, and Employee Engagement teams and functions.
  • Assembles interprets, and shares data to assess progress, celebrate success, inform priorities, and drive decision-making.
  • Ensures division fiscal performance is in alignment with budget parameters.

Human Resources:

  • Leads the development of HR strategies that foster an inclusive and engaging work environment, provides excellent employee services, and aligns with CCSI’s culture and values.
  • Oversees HR operations, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and leave administration.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Anti-Racist Practices:

  • Drives initiatives to promote DEIB throughout the organization.
  • Advances CCSI’s commitment to an anti-racist work environment.

Organizational Well-being and Trauma-Responsive Practices:

  • Develops and executes strategies to support the well-being of employees and incorporating trauma-responsive practices throughout employment with CCSI.
  • Champions a workplace culture that prioritizes mental health, resilience, and employee wellness.

Learning and Development:

  • Establishes a comprehensive learning and development framework to promote employee growth and career pathways.
  • Collaborate with leaders to identify training needs and create programs that enhance professional development.

Employee Engagement:

  • Drives initiatives to enhance overall employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Measures progress and supports further development through nimble and meaningful feedback loops.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree and at least 10 years of experience in human resources, organizational development, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent education and experience - see CCSI's equivalency chart ). Minimum of 8 years of senior or executive leadership experience.
  • Non-profit, healthcare, or professional services industry experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience in HR, DEI, L&D, organizational change management, or other people and culture leadership roles demonstrating the skills and competencies needed to assume the responsibilities above is required.
  • Highly developed strategic thinking and execution skills. Proven ability to bring creative approaches from concept to fruition.
  • Strength in building, leading, inspiring, and developing successful teams and cultivating a collaborative working environment.
  • Certification(s) in HR (PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP), DEI (CDP or CDE), or Training and Development (CPTD) is a plus.

Staff working directly with protected health information /electronically stored protected health information, personally identifiable information, and other patient/consumer/customer data, will abide by the specific procedures and policies outlined by CCSI’s Code of Conduct and CCSI’s Privacy and Security Policies, New York State regulations and Federal regulations.
