Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Private Duty Caregiver to join our healthcare team on a part-time continuous basis. As a Private Duty Caregiver, you will play a vital role in providing essential care and support to a single patient. This position offers an opportunity to work one on one with a 22 year old male college student with spinal cord injury in a rewarding environment, making a positive impact on his life and that of his family as he strides to become as independent as possible. Disability is 100% physical. Work will be in home setting over the summer and at Eckerd College campus (dorm) in the Fall. Assistance needed getting ready for bed Monday - Friday with optional or rotating weekends. Possible opportunity to be full time caregiver as travel abroad semester Fall 2025.

Duties:
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature, skin checks
- Provide basic patient care, including bathing, dressing and feeding
- Assist with mobility and transferring patient, wheelchair care (charging, cleaning, assess for problems)
- Perform routine procedures, such as catheter care and wound dressing changes
- Collaborate with the patient and family to ensure patient comfort and safety
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities, good communication to other caregivers and family
- Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment

Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant or related healthcare role preferred
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team
- Physical stamina to reman active throughout shift
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Valid certification as a Nursing Assistant or completion of an accredited nursing assistant program

-Willingness to transport patient in patients wheelchair accessible van as needed.

-Willingness to assist in home physical therapies as needed (typically not part of evening shift).

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 18 per week
