Cooperative Extension Columbia and Greene Counties is Hiring an Administrative Coordinator Near Acra, NY

The part-time Administrative Coordinator works as part of a team working on special projects including but not limited to managing federal, state, and local contracts, obtaining permits, and coordinating multiple funding streams and vendors for a new-build outdoor classroom. This position also assists with various human resources and Cornell compliance processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree or GED/High School Diploma plus 1 year of related experience.
  • Experience relevant to the role of the position.
  • Ability to help maintain a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Ability to meet the occasional travel requirements associated with this position. A valid NYS driver's license and ability to drive and driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage are required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with others.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, HR, finance, and other software.
  • Ability to organize, manage, and prioritize multiple tasks, deadlines, requirements, and priorities.
  • Ability to write various business documents (letters, procedures, etc.).
  • Work Environment: In addition to the Working Conditions; the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions. This position works primarily in an office setting and occasionally works in outdoor settings with exposure to heat, extreme cold and precipitation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in management and non-profit environments.
  • HR and compliance experience.
  • Experience with contracts creation, management, and compliance.
  • Experience working with boards of directors.
  • Year-end document processing.

Position Details

This is a part-time (18 hours/week), nonexempt position. Compensation paid in the range of $25 - 28 per hour. Excellent benefits, based on eligibility, including:
