Job Summary:
The Co-op has a job opening for a plant operator based in Akron. This person will work primarily at the grain plant in Akron and will also help at other plants as needed.
We are looking for a qualified individual to receive, process, grade and ship grain or dry beans. This person will also load/unload trucks and rail cars; possibly drive fertilizer tender or tandem to transfer grain/beans; assist with recordkeeping, housekeeping, and preventative maintenance, etc. Flexibility is key! Customer service and computer skills a must; a CDL with the proper endorsements helpful.
Job Responsibilities:
● Provides prompt, efficient, and professional service to customers (internal and/or external). Clearly and courteously communicates with customers promoting a positive company image at all times.
● Receives, ships, and grades grains following established procedures that maintain a high quality product.
● Loads/unloads trucks and/or train cars
● Assists in inventory control responsibilities.
● Maintains and cleans all grain plant equipment. Maintains cleanliness of work area and facility.
● Assists in maintaining housekeeping and maintenance records.
● Records all appropriate documentation and test results necessary to maintain all current certification standards and comply with all regulatory requirements.

Education and Experience: High School or GED; some experience in the grain and fertilizer industry preferred; certifications as required by law; valid driver’s license required and CDL with the proper endorsements helpful.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
