We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated new-to- practice nurse practitioner (APN) or physician assistant (PA) looking for an innovative and comprehensive fellowship program.

This is a 12-month fellowship designed for new or newer to practice APNs or PAs that are passionate about advancing their clinical and professional practice in a supportive and collaborative environment. This program aims to provide clinical, didactic and mentorship opportunities in hospital medicine to grow the new to practice providers knowledge and confidence in their practice.

Program focuses include mentor guided clinical practice with focuses on acute care medicine patient management, oncology, cardiology, palliative, consultative medicine and critical care medicine. As well as professional development elements in evidence-based practice, quality and process improvement and high reliability training.

Responsibilities:

1. APP fellow will provide medical services consistent with the fellows education, training and experience level and will be performed in collaboration with clinical preceptor.
2. APP fellow will complete a quality, performance, or process improvement project and/or research project suitable for publication or presentation.
3. APP fellow will attend all required educational events and seminars that have been incorporated into this program.
4. APP fellow will rotate to multiple roles within hospital to achieve focuses on hematology/oncology, cardiology, consultative medicine, and critical care.
5. APP fellow will participate in structured evaluations regarding progress such as but not limited to case study presentations, preceptor and program director performance evaluations, and demonstration.

0-2 years of experience

Master's Degree - Nurse Practitioner with Acute Care certification or Physician Assistant

New Jersey license for Advanced Nurse Practitioner & Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant

*For Nurse practitioners, must be acute care certified; PA NCCPA

AHA BLS & ACLS certifications

Eligibility for DEA and CDS certificates.

1. Two letters of recommendation from (1) academic from a faculty member (2) professional/clinical from a preceptor or clinical supervisor.
2. Unofficial transcript from graduate APP program.
3. Essay format answers to the following prompts:
   • Describe your journey to becoming a NP or PA, what made you choose this career path?
   • Describe why you are seeking a hospital medicine fellowship after finishing your post-graduate program and what you are hoping to achieve through this program?
   • Describe a time you had to overcome a challenge that helped you grow personally or professionally.

Schedule - Days/Hours: Full time; Sunday - Saturday; days and nights.
