POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and maintaining efficient mechanical and electrical systems throughout the facility. This position is also responsible for overseeing LOTO, preventative maintenance, plant inspections and various other maintenance functions throughout the plant.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Promote a strong quality culture throughout the company maintaining Cooper Steel’s core priorities: Safety, Quality, Production
Oversee a wide range of plant and machine inspections to ensure that all related PMs are properly completed and filled out, make necessary changes and additions
Oversee specifications, drawings, sketches, diagrams, schematics and make changes / recommendations
Maintain records of work performed, update document
Maintain relationships with outside contractors and vendors and coordinate work as needed
Oversee and complete repairs for various mechanical and electrical systems
Manage and oversee LOTO program, ensuring training is completed and program is being followed by all maintenance personnel and machine operators
Ensure all work orders are completed in a timely manner
Monitor progress on difficult or extended issues and projects within the plant
Detect and report defective material, faulty operations, and unusual conditions
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent
5 years prior experience in a maintenance position or industrial maintenance school and 2 years of experience
3-5 years prior experience as a maintenance lead or supervisor
OTHER SKILLS
Strong functional and technical skills; ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals; good judgment; strong attention to detail; ability to work effectively with others. While performing certain duties of the job, the employee is required to stand, stoop, bend, twist, lift, pull, and reach. Use of hands for gripping and grasping required. Specific vision abilities are required. Lifting is required up to 75 lbs. Must be flexible in hours worked and willing to work overtime.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Position performs work mostly in the Shop setting which includes a variety of working conditions. These include the following conditions: noise level fluctuations from moderate to high, use of personal protective equipment, machine/equipment use. Position involves everyday risks or exposure to elements that require safety precautions. Position will be required to work in adverse weather conditions such as heat, humidity, cold, precipitation, etc.
