Nutrition & Wellness Coordinator

The Integrative Health Coordinator isexperienced and, preferably, has certification in nutrition and wellness practices. This roleis responsible for supporting residents’ goals in the physical wellness domain, providing residents with holistic education, coaching, and support for optimal health. This position will collaborate with the staff across the integrative recovery team to recommend evidence-based wellness interventions.

Location: Mill Spring, NC

Schedule: 

• Monday – Friday 

• 10 a.m.–7 p.m., with some flexibility of hours

Pay: Starting at $20.00 per hour and increasing based on experience

Responsibilities:

• Implements the CooperRiis Wellness curriculum and monitors program- and organization-wide fidelity measures

• Ensures consistency across departments and programs through partnerships with the Asheville Integrative Health Coordinator and Executive Chef.

• Assists residents with the development and implementation of their physical wellness goals through individual assessments

• Provides ongoing assessments, consultation, and health coaching to residents

• Offers education, groups, and coaching on sleep hygiene, regular physical movement, healthy nutrition, cessation of reduction of behaviors that negatively impact physical health, self-care, and stress reduction

• Supervises the massage therapist and ensures residents have access to regular massages

• Coordinates assessment and recommendations for supplements in collaboration with other CooperRiis staff members

• Manages the Metabolic Monitoring Data for each resident

• Assures the health and safety of each resident is continuously monitored and prioritized and responds immediately to health and safety concerns

• Provides support, consultation, and training to staff regarding health and wellness topics

Qualifications:

• Education in wellness, nutrition, or a similar field

• Experience in health and wellness coaching required

• Experience with adults who are coping with mental health challenges preferred
