Overview

An R&D Engineer 2 role is a leader on the team tasked with the development of products, as part of the larger R&D Vascular Division. They are tasked with solving problems, developing new products and leading engineering projects. An Engineer 2 may provide guidance and assistance to entry level technical and/or support employees. Areas of focus for the team include drainage catheters, access sets, angiographic catheters and wireguides.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical input on defining project priorities and company product goals• Identify and suggest solutions to department, system-level problems• Apply technical/scientific knowledge in order to meet department goals, direct entry level technical and/or support employees and other company business functions• Assume responsibility for interpreting data, organizing, executing, and coordinating project activities• Lead complex engineering projects independently with general supervision

• Provide guidance and assistance to entry level technical and/or support employees in the Engineering department• Contribute to company intellectual property 

• Works effectively with a cross-functional team to make project decisions

Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years experience• Experience in medical device development strongly, preferred

• Experience with managing and directing project team members • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills• Proficiency in Microsoft suite of software tools • Experience in project management tools (MS Project), preferred• Good communication and interpersonal skills• Proficiency MS Sharepoint, preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Works under general office environmental conditions• Requires close visual acuity when working with computers, etc.• Requires occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences• Domestic and global travel as required
