Convoy of Hope is Hiring a Community Events Project Manager Near Springfield, MO

Ministry Function:

The Community Events (CE) Project Manager supports the ministry of Convoy of Hope by managing Community Events projects and providing management oversight to various aspects of the Community Events team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide Community Events project management.
    • Ensure that milestones are being met for each event by meeting with the Senior Director – Community Events and Outreach Director.
    • Responsible for management and recording of program data based on yearly goals and objectives.
    • Provide Vice President - Community Events with updated reports as requested.
  2. Act as initial point of contact for internal and external communication related to CE.
  3. Provide oversight in the development of CE promotional assets.
  4. Provide oversight of internal and external communications pieces and processes.
  5. Collaboration with COH Administration Team for creation of legal documents for CEs.
  6. Manage CE inventory or ordering of CE supplies.
  7. Oversee CE and International Events budgets.
    • Assist with setting the yearly budgets.
    • Review monthly budget to actuals/expenses for every code and note areas of discrepancies or concerns – reporting those to appropriate Directors.
    • Responsible to know and stay within established budget, holding self and staff accountable to it.
    • Address issues relating to any miscoding.
    • Review all team members Chrome River reports, based on individual projects, before they are submitted.
  8. Assist with project management including training, inventory review, process changes, point of contact for the following:
    • National Breast Cancer Foundation
    • Points of Light
    • Plum Organics
    • Warriors Journey
    • All future relationships
  9. Provide Event Volunteer management and oversight.
    • Schedule volunteers to help with Community Events Administrative Assistant duties.
    • Provide volunteer oversight to tasks assigned.
  10. Provide weekly project updates to VP of Community Events.
  11. Assist the Vice President of Community Events with inter-departmental responsibilities, including administrative functions, scheduling meetings, and other assigned projects.
  12. All other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred, High School diploma or equivalent required.
  2. 2 years project management or office management required.
  3. Ability to use a PC and software programs, including but not limited to MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Basecamp or project management software experience a plus;
  4. Strong organization skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  6. Excellent grammar and punctuation skills are necessary for writing outreach reports and proofing correspondence.
  7. Ability to follow verbal directions and written processes accurately and methodically.
  8. Ability to lift and move 30 to 60 lbs.
  9. Serve as an advocate for the ministry, striving to nurture, broaden and develop financial and other resource opportunities to support and expand organizational and program ministry.
  10. Ability to positively represent the ministry of Convoy of Hope, including its mission statement and core values, to all outside constituencies.
  11. As a Christian organization, Convoy of Hope believes it is critical that each staff member embraces the organization's religious purposes for which it exists and not only agrees with its Statement of Faith but demonstrates it in their lives on an ongoing basis.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position may provide supervisory oversight to internal administrative assistants, as well as volunteers at Convoy events.
