Convergint is Hiring a Fire Alarm Technician Near Helena, MT

Convergint is offering a one time $3,000 signing bonus for a qualified, full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Fire Alarm Technician to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, programming, servicing and testing of new and upgraded fire alarm systems. What You’ll Do

  • Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programing of Fire Alarm Systems, schematics and operational/product manuals.
  • Execute all work in accordance with local and national codes, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.

What You’ll Need

  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
  • Solid technical skills and/or experience related to fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
  • Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
  • Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to travel locally to jobsites on a regular basis. Minimal overnight travel may be required.

Requirements:

Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience

Minimum Experience: 3-5 years relevant

  • NICET III Certification in Fire Alarm, and/or Special Hazards

Preferred Experience: (but not required):

  • Associates degree in Electronic technology, Instrumentation, PLC
  • 2 years of hands on experience in the commercial/industrial/military low voltage / electrical industry
