Convergence Controls & Engineering is Hiring an Automation Technician Near Littleton, CO

The position performs installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial process control, instrumentation, and SCADA systems, as well as other tasks to assist with the upkeep and maintenance of client facilities. This position will be responsible for installation, start-up/commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, documenting, and repair of a wide variety of industrial instrumentation, electronic monitoring, metering, controlling, and signaling devices used in our clients’ production of associated goods and services. Input to equipment selection and design may frequently be requested.
Primary Responsibilities:
The position requires knowledge of:

  • Calibration procedures

  • Site safety procedures
  • Function of each loop component
  • Process control systems
  • Problem-solving techniques
  • Documentation, drawings, & symbol identification
  • Basic duties of other disciplines

This position requires skills in the following:

  • Interpreting P&IDs and P&ID symbols
  • Interpreting loop diagram
  • Completing calibration sheets
  • Interpreting a loop drawing to identify the devices in a particular loop

  • Identifying abnormal variations in data or readings from charts, or indicators
  • Identifying malfunctions in equipment and possible causes for these malfunctions
  • Developing alternative solutions to a problem

  • Identification of safety hazard
  • Interpreting output readings
  • Communicating problems identified during field walk-downs, calibrations, loop checks, etc.
  • Establishing priorities for start-up
  • Interpreting a start-up plan

The ideal candidate must have a diverse technical skill set with the ability to work independently. This person may act as technical lead on projects and guide lower-level technicians. Salary shall be commensurate with experience.

Requirements

Education:
High School Diploma or Bachelor of Science degree in associated field of science
Experience:
Greater than 10 years with capabilities in the below areas is preferred but lesser experienced person’s may be considered:
  • Experience in industries such as Oil & Gas, Water/Wastewater, Mining Life Sciences, Building Automation, Manufacturing and Food & Beverage.
  • Experience with programming and implementation of RTUs, PLCs, DCS, SCADA and Industrial networks strongly preferred.
Travel:
As projects require across the United States.
Location:
Littleton, CO. It is expected that the candidate will be in the office >80% of the time when not traveling for project work.

$40 - $50 per hour
