The Patient Account Representative will be a key member of the call center team. You will assist patients with payments, questions regarding their account or assist in directing their call to the appropriate team member.

Your Impact

• Responsible for all patient calls as part of the call center. Answer phones and assist customers courteously and efficiently.

• Manage patient communication via phone, text, and email.

• Perform calculations to arrive at the correct patient responsibility and adjustments.

• Working in multiple systems, ensuring all patient accounts are balanced, posted, and reconciled.

• Analyze data, identify issues, reach conclusions, and propose strategies to resolve complex reimbursement issues.

• Utilize electronic health records, health information systems, and healthcare applications, and have a good working knowledge of information technology to perform assigned tasks.

• Update Insurance information in the practice management system.

• Identifies better working methods, demonstrating courage and resourcefulness to achieve the best outcomes for patients, the team, and the organization.

Who You Are

• 2 years working in a medical billing environment and knowledge and understanding of accounts receivable and best practices to collect on patient accounts.

• Knowledge of EOBs.

• Proficiency in reading and analyzing remittances

• Knowledge of insurance guidelines, especially Medicare and Medicaid.

• Experience with medical billing software technology.

• Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA requirements.

• Prior patient call experience (highly preferred).

• Impeccable professional reputation with a high degree of energy, integrity, and positive spirit.

• Experience supporting multi-site facilities a plus.

• Excellent analytical skills such as the ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization’s hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.

• Ability to commute into our Portsmouth, NH corporate office Monday - Friday
