Building Automation Service Specialist

About This Role

Join our dynamic team as a Building Automation Service Specialist, where you'll play a pivotal role in performing diagnostics, preventive maintenance, repairs, installations, and commissioning of cutting-edge building automation control systems. Under moderate supervision, you will have the opportunity to showcase your HVAC expertise and leadership skills while ensuring high customer satisfaction levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Control Logic and customer safety standards, promoting a culture of workplace safety awareness.
  • Engage regularly with customers to guarantee outstanding levels of satisfaction, actively identifying opportunities for system enhancements, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Build sustainable relationships and trust with customer accounts through open and interactive communication.
  • Conduct system maintenance following established service practices, including controllers, servers, workstations, and field hardware.
  • Collaborate with the customer's HVAC mechanical service provider for equipment diagnostics when needed.
  • Continuously improve technical proficiency through self-study, certifications, and staying updated on the latest industry products and strategies.
  • Troubleshoot HVAC control systems, providing solutions and leading others in problem resolution.
  • Complete all job-required documentation on time, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Ability to climb ladders or use other lift equipment in excess of 8 feet above grade and capable of lifting items up to 50 lbs.
  • Participation in on-call schedule for one week every two months.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years of experience in either building automation controls, HVAC service, technical school, or electrical troubleshooting and wiring.
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite.
  • Valid and current driver's license, insurable by the company's insurance carrier.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and communicate proficiently with customers.
  • Successful completion of background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or technical school in HVAC.
  • Experience interacting with a diverse set of challenges, showcasing proficiency in multiple areas of expertise.
  • Field experience and understanding of DDC Building Automation Systems, and integration experience (BACnet, Modbus, Lon). Automated Logic software and hardware experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in creating, downloading, and troubleshooting complex HVAC system logic using WebCTRL and associated software.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP networks, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and understand architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints.
  • Background in HVAC mechanical equipment operation and control sequences.
