Position Title: Quality Engineering Technician

Department: Quality

Location: St. Louis, MO

Reports To: Quality Engineer Supervisor

Classification: Hourly - Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

The Quality Engineering Technician will play a pivotal role in ensuring high standards of product quality and adherence to ISO standards within our organization. Your responsibilities will span across technical support for production personnel, troubleshooting quality issues, auditing internal processes, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Additionally, you will be actively involved in addressing customer issues and providing support for incoming inspection and in-house calibration activities.

This role demands precision, attention to detail, and a solid grasp of both inspection techniques and calibration procedures. The individual will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering procedures ensuring that production aligns with specified requirements.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Technical Support for Production Personnel
    • Provide technical assistance to production teams.
    • Collaborate with manufacturing personnel to resolve quality issues.
  • Troubleshooting Quality Issues
    • Investigate and identify root causes of quality issues.
    • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Auditing Internal Processes
    • Conduct regular audits of internal processes.
    • Ensure compliance with ISO standards and company quality procedures.
  • Customer Issue Resolution
    • Serve as a point of contact for addressing customer quality concerns.
    • Work closely with customer support teams to resolve issues.
  • Continuous Improvement Leadership
    • Take a lead role in continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Collaborate with teams to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support for Incoming Inspection and Calibration
    • Assist in incoming inspection activities.
    • Provide support for in-house calibration processes.
  • Inspection of Received Parts
    • Utilize calipers, pin gauges, molds, and visual comparator systems to inspect incoming parts for precision and quality.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Required Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associates degree in a technical field preferred

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Proficiency in using calipers, pin gauges, visual comparators, and other precision measurement tools.
  • Strong understanding and interpretation of engineering blueprints.
  • Experience in calibration techniques for various equipment and machinery.
  • Proven experience in quality engineering or technical support.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage calibration schedules effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and quality management systems.
  • Auditing experience in a regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.
