Control Concepts Inc. is Hiring a Shipping Associate Near Brighton, PA

Position Summary

The Shipping Associate is a warehouse employee responsible for fulfilling orders by packing small box shipments and/or palletized shipments. Their duties include interpreting orders to determine which items need to be sent out, performing quality control assessments and stacking items safely and securely in the right packaging.

Essential Functions

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Pick & Pack

  • Pulls products off of warehouse shelves and packs them based on daily orders.
  • Meets specifics of customer orders in a timely manner.
  • Keeps product stock separated, organized and in good rotation.
  • Monitors product quality frequently, reporting problems to mitigate safety issues.
  • Operates various pieces of equipment including tape machines, banding equipment, and pallet jacks.
  • Reports any facility or equipment issues to the department’s Group Leader
  • Utilizes continuous improvement mindset and assists in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
  • Follows good manufacturing practices and required work safe practices.
  • Maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.

Shipping Material

  • Examine and inspect customer orders to ensure accuracy with packing slips.
  • Pack, seal, label to prepare materials for shipping.
  • Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates as required for materials to be shipped.
  • Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
  • Deliver or route materials using forklift.
  • Load palletized material into trucks utilizing forklift.
  • Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.

Inventory Maintenance & Control

  • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in the warehouse.
  • Store material in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, supply rooms and other areas.
  • Examine and inspect inventory items for defects, reporting any damage to the supervisor.
  • Verify inventory calculations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors using manufacturing software.
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Product Assembly Requirements

  • Assemble / Configure standard product catalog offering orders involving utilization of stocked components in alignment with published work instructions
  • Test assembled/configured products utilizing provided test figures in alignment with published work instructions
  • Locate / Print labels for products in alignment with order fulfillment process

Required Qualifications/Skills

  • Required high school diploma or GED certificate
  • Basic computer skills such as reading/composing emails and navigating MRP and inventory tracking software
  • Strong attention to details skills

Preferred Qualifications/Skills

  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Warehouse or assembly experience
  • Scanning and sorting outgoing stock
  • Pulling, packing, and loading
  • Receiving, stocking, and stacking

Language and Communication Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret internal communications, packing slips, and common documents
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions and procedures
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or issues members of the business
  • Ability to talk with others to convey information effectively
  • Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Ability to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Ability to quickly move hand, hand together with arm, or two hands to grasp, manipulate, or package objects
  • Ability to continually lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to see close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, knelling, lifting, balancing, walking, stopping, and handling of materials throughout a shift

Position Type, Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position, 12:00 pm – 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
