• Duties / Responsibilities:
• Set up and operate various types of machines (not limited to): Punch Press, Shear, Drill Press, Milling Machine, Router, etc.
• Perform simple progressive machining operations.
• Use and maintain simple tools, machines, and fixtures.
• Take the lead, give direction, help solve problems and motivate workers by example.
• Receive instruction from supervisor and distribute work by priority.
• Work from verbal and written instructions, assembly prints and visual aids.
• Inform supervisor of problems and potential problems with equipment, parts and/or instruction.
• Conform to close/accurate tolerances.
• Conform to workmanship standards.
• Plan and perform all bench and machine operation necessary to construct, alter, or repair a variety of tools, dies, jigs, and fixture of fairly complicated design to very close tolerances.
• Use standard measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gages.
• Layout and perform all operations, including development work on large or intricate sheet metal products for which no standard method or procedure has been devised. Use sheet metal hand and machine tools as required.
• Basic welding on a wide variety of items. (TIG)
• Assist in the solution of technical work related problems.
• Assist Purchasing in coordinating outside processing and fabrication with suppliers.
• Assist Engineering and Drafting Departments in custom and new product development.
• Train and instruct new employees.
• Knowledgeable of performing all paperwork and reports as they apply to daily operations.
• Responsible for following the requirements of the Quality Management System.
