Control Associates is Hiring a 2024 Health & Safety Manager Near Allendale, NJ

Health & Safety Manager

Role: Provide overall leadership to the development, implementation and maintenance of all Health and Safety initiatives, and champion a safety culture, which ensures all Control Associates offices/shops/work sites are designed, maintained, and operated in a manner that minimizes the risk of hazards.

  • Normal Working Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all clients, local, state, and federal agencies related to environmental, health and safety governance.
  • Develop safety plans, emergency response plans, job hazard analysis, and other safety related documents as required. Communicate, train and document execution as required.
  • Create, manage, and lead the company safety training curriculum.
  • Perform and train others on risk assessments including PPE Hazard Assessments, Ergonomic Assessments, etc.
  • Track safety training completion including assignment of Emerson-required safety training, OSHA 10, and other required trainings. Work with Director of HR to ensure completion of trainings for customer requirements.
  • Conduct audits, assessments, inventories, and inspections for various environmental and safety regulations to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and corporate requirements.
  • Manage submittals, data, and safety questionnaires within ISNet, Veriforce, Avetta, Highwire, DISA, ConstructSecure and other customer systems to ensure compliance and positive safety ratings for all registered customers.
  • Lead, document, and investigate all safety-related incidents. Conducts incident analysis to identify incident trends.
  • Oversee all internal and external HSE related audits and customer inquiries.
  • Prepares reports including key performance indicators to management and to the client as needed
  • Normal Working Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, any concentration in safety, occupational health or technical discipline preferred.
  • Any experience and exposure to OSHA general industry requirements preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment; familiarity with process automation & manufacturing related safety hazards in a process environment is preferred.
  • Experience in Safety Program Administration including evaluating / interpreting OSHA, PHMSA, ASME and National Board rules / guidance is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams including knowledge of basic facilitation techniques.
  • Effective verbal & written communication skills required, she/he will directly engage at every level of our organization, and well as direct client interface.
  • Strong writing skills; capable of drafting and maintaining Policies & Procedures.
  • Solid understanding of compliance issues related to risk, reliability, and safety.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Ability to use digital tools to organize policies and procedures and administer access to documents.
  • Ability to utilize multiple customer-required vendor management portals. Familiarity with ISNetworld, Avetta, Veriforce and/or ConstructSecure is preferred.
  • Experience in leading, documenting and investigation of safety-related incidents and implementing improvement plans is required.
  • Must be experienced in conducting safety training, and any experience creating safety training content is preferred.
  • First Aid / CPR Certification and AED Certification preferred.
  • The ability to travel may be required.
