Job Title: General Counsel

Department/Location: Legal – Hybrid (Marlton NJ office/Remote)

Reports to: CEO

FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Summary

Reporting to the CEO, the Chief General Counsel is responsible for the management, direction, and oversight of the corporation legal function.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides company-wide corporate legal counsel throughout all operations
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications or Education, Training and Experience

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited school of law
  • Licensed to Practice Law in New Jersey, be in good standing with the corresponding state bar association
  • Ten (10) or more years of legal experience as General Counsel in corporate legal department combined with corporate and prior law firm experience.

Knowledge and Skills/Expected Competencies

  • Demonstrated management experience leading the legal function, including the management of attorneys, paralegals, and other support staff in a healthcare organization with revenues exceeding $100 million.
  • Contract administration experience required.
  • Experience working effectively with a Board of Directors and its leadership.
  • Versatile practitioner across all major practice areas.
  • Effective collaborator in delivering practical legal advice.

The employee may occasionally lift and/or move between 10 and 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee may need to travel to healthcare practices.
