Position Title: SUD Counselor Status: Part-Time
SUD JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Description: COMAR Code 10.63.03.03
Clinical Staff shall have sufficient qualifications, knowledge, and experience ot execute the duties of the position; shall be knowledgeable about theregulations applicable ot the program
Requirement:
All staff employed as alcohol and drug counselors shall, at a minimum be:
Licensed or certified as an alcohol and drug counselors by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists;
Approved by the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists; or
Licensed, certified, or permitted under the Health Occupations Article, Annotated Code of Maryland to provide substance abuse treatment.
Credentials. The administrator shall ensure that program staff, including students, interns, and volunteers, are credentialed and appropriately privileged.
Expected Duties:
Fulfills the programmatic requirements under COMAR 10.63.03.03;
Coordinate services and clinical care identified as a result of a comprehensive assessment.
Ensure the patient's changing needs are met with appropriate type and intensity of services. Conduct individual and group counseling sessions.
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans
Documents clinical caredelivered timely and comprehensively.
Substance use screening, assessment, recovery education, case management, psychosocial referral, discharge planning and follow-up are core components of service delivery.
Attend supervision, training and staff meetings as required.
Perform other duties within the scope of service as needed.
