Job Description

Overview

The Shopfloor Training Coordinator will coordinate planning, implementation, and tracking of all training and development programs for new and existing shopfloor employees to build employee competency and capability in a standardized and systematized manner with a safety and quality focus.

Core Job Responsibilities :

  • Lead by example Actions, behaviors, and attitudes must be in compliance with Continental Core Values.
  • Inform and coach new hires on departmental policies and procedures.
  • Identify training needs for new and existing shopfloor employees.
  • Create training content and material with frequent evaluation to check its currency
  • Evaluate on-the-job training for new and existing shopfloor employees.
  • Shopfloor qualification / requalification facilitation and tracking.
  • Facilitate shopfloor hands-on-training lessons.
  • Provide and conduct the theoretical training according to predefined training contents and targets.
  • Ensure practical training on the machines is carried out.
  • Give clear instructions and guidance on all relevant training topics to shopfloor employees and departmental leadership.
  • Document training (skills matrix, qualification matrix., LMS).
  • Assist department leadership in distribution of training (ex. One Point Lessons, Work Instructions, etc.) and recording of training records.
  • Communicate with Department Leadership, Human Resources, ESH, Quality, and shop floor team members.
  • Assist recruiting team with candidate pre-hire tours and department interviews.
  • Attend daily BT2 meetings with weekly KPI updates.
  • Learn, use, and train on all necessary internal company software (EWM, CGMS, LMS, etc.).

Qualifications

For Internal Employees

  • 12 months Continental work experience.
  • Excellent attendance for previous 12 months
  • No performance related disciplinary incidents in past 12 months.

Basic Qualifications :

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of related manufacturing work experience or
  • Good organizational, leadership, communication, and people skills.
  • Ability to learn, train, coach, and mentor others (patience, empathy, and ability to motivate).
  • Problem-solving abilities (listening, analytical, creative, communication, decision-making, organization).
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Office365, eLearning, Apps).
  • Ability to read and explain SOP’s, Work Instructions, Specs, and One Point Lessons.
  • Basic understanding of Structured Problem Solving.
  • Domain knowledge (experience as an operator) in one department.
  • Willing to work nights, weekends, and overtime if needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to travel if needed.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in Tire Manufacturing
  • Forklift driver certification

Physical Requirements

Medium to heavy work. Occasionally exposed to heat, and dust. Constantly exposed to noise and moving equipment. Must be able to frequently stoop, bend, walk long distances, climb stairs, and lift fifty or more pounds on an occasional to frequent basis.

Push, pull medium to heavy.
