Continental Tide Defense System INC. is Hiring an Electrical Quality Assurance Inspector Near Virginia, VA

Job Description:
Shift: First Shift

Continental Tide is seeking an experienced Electrical Quality Assurance Inspector to support our Fleet Services Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing quality assurance inspections on electrical and electronic systems on US Navy Ships.

As a Electrical Quality Assurance Inspector your responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following:

  • Responsible contract management, oversight and execution under your cognizance.
  • Communicate with management/subcontractors/customers regarding CDRLs and internal programmatic initiatives.
  • Overall lead for Continental Tide’s electrical and electronic program.
  • Train personnel on various cableway, termination, and testing methods.
  • Contract, delivery, and task order estimating, technical proposal development, estimate review, preparation and formatting.
  • Develop and track project plans via Microsoft project.
  • Assist project execution by streamlining processes from award to project planning (kick-off meetings, team compositions, personnel, schedules, etc) and ensuring the Project Manager/Lead is fully prepared to transition into the process and take the lead.
  • Assist and support the work of other Continental Tide employees including multiple Project / Program Managers and a variety of tasks.
  • Oversees and directs "Program-level" and/or multiple "Project-level" initiatives within the constructs of corporate initiatives and directives.
  • Prepares Status Reports and works to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications and overall corporate goals.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Reports to top management and responsible for financial and budgetary projections.
  • Familiar with 9090-310, NAVSEA Standard Items and NAVSSES 4790.2 Series Installation documentation.
  • Performs other tasking/initiatives in a wide range of disciplines as directed.
Experience and Skills:

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Must possess a high school, trade or industrial school diploma or degree.
  • Ten (10) years of experience performing quality assurance inspections within AIT industry.
  • Ability to read and interpret ship installation drawings, government specifications and NAVSEA Standard Items is a must.
  • Detailed knowledge of shipboard/shipyard environment procedures, processes, methods, and techniques.
  • Background and extensive knowledge in electrical wiring, multi-pin connectors, and Fiber Optics including familiarity with MIL-STDs for electric equipment installation onboard U.S. Navy Ships.
  • Must have or have the ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain base access and security credentials.
  • Ability to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs.Ability to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to wear a respirator may be required.
  • Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
  • Due to export control regulations, this role is open to U.S. citizens only.

  • Ability to work independently and execute multiple assigned tasks.
  • Must be Proficient in Microsoft Project and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Willingness to travel is a must.
