Retail Sales Customer Care Specialist (South Elgin IL)

We’re looking for a Retail Sales & Customer Care Specialists at our South Elgin Resource Center! This position is the key point of contact for customers—members and the public at large, including in-person, phone, and e-mail interactions.

Interested? Daily activities would include:

• Documenting interactions in our Customer Relation Management system
• Handling retail sales transactions and processing payments
• Creating a welcoming, customer-centric atmosphere in the resource center
• Assisting customers in-person, on the phone, via email inquiries, and with product needs
• Working with other departments to create knowledge articles
• Supporting camp site reservation process

• Computer knowledge
• Willingness to learn our systems
• Ability to work varied work schedule, including weekends and evenings
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Travel within the Council area is required
• Ability to lift 25 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Physical activities include bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying
• Call center and/or retail experience (preferred)
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Bilingual preferred but not required

Note: This position does require travel to other resource centers for coverage when short staffed, travel is required.
