JOB SUMMARY

The Project Manager is a key part of delivering on the company promises and expectations of our Clients. Our company’s reputation and the Client’s experience rely heavily on the proper execution of the responsibilities of this role.

IMPORTANCE

  • The Project Manager sets the tone for the employee and customer experience at ContentoCo. The way this individual represents the values of the company and the professionalism they bring to their job everyday will not be unnoticed by all they come in contact with throughout the workday.
  • The Project Manager controls the job more than anyone - the quality, the schedule, the budget, the scope of work, the customer experience, gross profit, etc.
  • The Project Manager has a huge impact on ContentoCo’s future work. Referrals from satisfied clients are the life-blood of our company for years ahead. The client experience will completely determine our success with referrals.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILTIES:

· Client Experience – Ensure the Client(s) always feel taken care of, that they have the most up to date information and are enjoying the experience.

· Communication – Engage in open, daily communication with company team members, field staff, subcontractors, vendors and clients.

· Leadership – Foster an enthusiastic, creative, “can do” attitude and share the responsibility for ContentoCo’s success in reaching its goals.

· Engagement – Share and implement your own design ideas, building experiences and personal point of views in the best interest of the Client and ContentoCo.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

  • This role is ultimately responsible to safeguard the client’s interest while acting as their advocate and offering honest assessments, opinions and options. Our PM must build “know, like and trust” with every Client which, along with an engaged field staff will ensure a project executed to the highest standards we can as a Company.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES:

· Conduct pre-construction, during construction and post construction walk-thru’s and meetings with the clients to ensure all questions, challenges, scopes of work, specs, schedules, changes, costs, and plans are discussed and understood by all. Record action items agreed to by all parties and follow through to completion.

· Ensure the client feels taken care of, always feels they have the most up to date information and is enjoying the construction process provided by ContentoCo.

· Understand our clients and ask relevant questions to uncover their needs and style preferences to ensure their project minimizes maintenance, make daily tasks easier and beautifully reflects their style.

· Create Working Plans (electric, plumbing, lighting, etc…) that clearly describe work scope to help our field teams and customers visualize and understand the work expectations.

· Visit jobsite to verify measurements and explore understand how client uses the space

· Collaborate with sales teams to understand project requirements and expectations

· Coordinate with Project Superintendent to develop project schedule milestones

· Assist Sales to source and procure materials, equipment, and subcontractor services

  • Effectively & consistently use all provided tools to keep yourself, the ContentoCo team, field staff, subs, vendors, etc. up-to-date, organized & well informed about your projects (JobTread, phone, text, email, other tools as needed)
  • Listen with intent to understand & communicate clearly so others can understand - clarity is precision - consider your audience, say what you mean, keep it simple, ask for verification, over communicate, use best means available

· Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.

· Collaborate with architects and engineers to clarify design details and resolve discrepancies

  • Ensure all change order procedures are followed on a regular basis - from recognizing a change from the SOW & contract, to ensuring it is correctly priced out, approved by the customer and produced in the field.

· Conduct final inspections and ensure completion of all punch list items

· Collaborate with the sales team to assess project feasibility and pricing

· Attend project meetings with clients, architects, and other stakeholders

· Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new construction techniques

· Evaluate and recommend construction equipment and tools for the company

· Provide guidance and support to clients during the warranty period

· Continuously seek opportunities for business growth and expansion

  • Assist with job costing, cost to complete, & other forecasting exercises as needed

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 7 years experience as a superintendent or PM for a home builder or remodeler
  • College degree may be a plus, may be not
  • Need good verbal and written communication
  • Good construction knowledge, able to read blueprints, understand specifications
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, organized, good time management skills,
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Seeks out coaching and feedback, always learning
  • Computer skills - picks up software easily - competent with Word, Excel - can quickly learn Company project management software - familiar with estimating
  • Proactive, flexible, team player who thrives working in a small company environment
  • Forward looking, able to see the big picture and head off problems in advance
  • Commitment to excellence, high standards and thinking different
  • Able to supervise, manage and lead others

OBJECTIVES AND RESULTS

  • Responsible for the success of $1.5-$2.5M of projects assigned annually
  • Manage 1-5 projects at a time, 12-18 per year

LEADERSHIP AND TRAINING

  • We manage stuff & lead people - leading is NOT bossing - leading is doing your job so well that it equips others do theirs well - leaders focus on being productive & inspire others to be the same - leaders guide others, explaining the “why” behind the “what” & “how” & give metrics for success
  • Provide feedback & training where needed - help others clearly understand the big picture & the details - look for ways to improve our processes
  • Assists in hiring & firing team members/subs/vendors
  • Encourage our field staff to seek out opportunities to learn, be coached, and coach others
  • Assist in monthly ContentoCo employee reviews and development of growth plans
  • Spend at least 2 hours in the field every week teaching or learning something technical
  • Be a pro-active leader, providing input that forwards the company’s goals, objectives & growth - be self-motivated, committed to excellence, flexible & take initiative

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
