We have an immediate opening for a Systems Administrator II! The selected candidates must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. This position is responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical systems. Proven track record administering AWS based systems. Serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex systems. Recommends the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications. Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications. 

 Primary functions are to coordinate and execute tasks/assignments such as:

• Work with SysAdmin team providing training and documentation while addressing service requests.
• Backfill/provide technical support for SysAdmin team if required responding to the Operations telephone line and online ticketing system.
• Analyze customer environments for possible opportunities to improve performance and/or solve issues before and/or after client requests.
• Internal/External projects assigned by management.
• Monitor service requests as they are escalated to ensure timely responses. Ensure that all SLA commitments is met.
• Provide administration and maintenance of production servers running RedHat, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, Windows Server 2008 and 2012.
• Provide technical oversight for complex solution implemented or being tested by other teams.
• Design and implement systems on AWS infrastructure.
• Support a variety of software solutions including, IIS, Exchange, SQL Server, SharePoint, Active Directory, Apache, PHP, MySQL, and Varnish to name a few.
• Responsible for ensuring proper documentation on all service requests. Including, but not limited to, completed tasks, testing procedures followed, recommended follow up or next actions needed.
• Responsible for providing training to other teams on complex incidents, new products and technologies.
• Interacting with multiple departments daily.
• Following strict operational procedures, creating operational procedures where gaps are identified.
• Responsible for environment level networking and security related tasks (firewall updates, load balancer administration, security vulnerabilities remediation).

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience maintaining both systems and hardware in Linux (LAMP) or Windows Server environments.
• Strong understanding and proven record of AWS environment design and use.
• Extensive Knowledge of some combination of Drupal, WordPress, Magento, Node.js, OpenStack, Atlassian Products, MySQL, Windows Server, MSSQL Server
• Experience in HA environments, experience with appropriate HA tools for platform of expertise required (Load balancing, MSSQL clustering…)
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining software and supporting a broad range of customers.
• Advanced Open-Source Software Configuration and Administration
• Experience with some scripting languages (Shell, Perl, PHP.).
• Verifiable involvement in an open-source community or project.
• Security, Networking, or DevOps development backgrounds.
• This position is a fast-paced position requiring the ability to multitask and set priorities. You need to be able to exercise independent judgment and work with minimal supervision.
