A prestigious investment management firm seeks a Senior Tax Associate to join their dynamic team. This position will act oversee and ensure the accuracy and timely completion of company's tax deliverables, and aid in the company's tax initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Review the tax returns prepared by third party tax accountants
• Coordinate with third party tax advisors on tax appeals
• Aid in the tax structuring process for new investments
• Project future tax liabilities
• Model out tax liability proxies from GAAP to tax
• Calculate deferred taxes
• Liaise with third party tax accountants and coordinate tax filings
• Research tax developments
• Undertake ad hoc requests

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university
• Associate:
• 3 years of experience preparing and reviewing tax returns for partnerships and C-corps
• Will need to take an accounting/tax exam
• Senior Associate:
• 5 years of experience preparing and reviewing tax returns for partnerships and C-corps
• 2 years working with REITs
• 2 years working with returns that involve carried interest components
• Have working knowledge of FATCA
• Will need to take an accounting/tax exam
• CPA a plus

Must be proficient in the following:

• Microsoft Office applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Good communication skills, both oral and written
• Problem solving
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Multitasking and prioritizing work to meet deadlines
• A strong understanding of U.S. tax, particularly as it pertains to funds and partnerships
