.Job Description:
The Medication Nurse is responsible for refilling any medications that the providers in the clinic may prescribe. This candidate will work with the Nurse Practitioner, Medical Director, associate physicians to assure appropriate medical care of patients. This is a full time position; hours will be Monday through Friday 7:30AM to 4:30pm. Additionally, candidates must pay close attention to detail.
Responsibilities
· Employee is expected to perform all duties in accordance to work schedule.
· Retrieve voicemails hourly from automated lines.
· Signs and processes physician requests.
· Processes dose changes and puts notes in systems.
· Familiarization with prescription monitoring program is a MUST.
· Ability to review UDS results as needed
· Obtain medication prior authorizations.
· Files appropriate paperwork and letters of medical necessity.
Qualifications and Requirements
· 1 year experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy assistant.
· CPR certified within 3 months of hire.
· Knowledge of narcotics
· Bilingual –Spanish
Education Requirements
· Graduation from an accredited medical assistant school or pharmacy technician program.
