Job Summary:

Responsible for overseeing the construction and assembly of ship hulls in a shipyard. This role typically involves:

• Coordinating the various stages of hull construction, from initial fabrication to final assembly.
• Supervising a team of workers and ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
• Inspecting the quality of work and materials to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Managing the schedule and workflow to meet project deadlines.
• Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations specific to shipyard operations.
• Collaborating with other supervisors and departments to optimize production processes.

The job may also require experience in welding inspection, material receiving inspection, fit-up inspection, block welding inspection, tank air and hydraulic tests, non-destructive testing (NDE) supervision, and steel outfitting inspection1. Proficiency in relevant software and strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills are often essential for this position.

Experience:

Minimum of 10 years’ professional experience: in shipyards with shipbuilding production or ship repair.
