Job Purpose:Operates and safely drives vehicles with a gross vehicle weight over 26,000 lbs to transport paving materials and construction supplies or equipment.
Essential duties and responsibilities:• Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle.
• Drive vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight over 26,000 lbs.
• Ensure contents are properly secured in a truck, flatbed to prevent damage/injury.
• Stay on a predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery.
• Perform inspections on your vehicle prior to and following each trip.
• Check weather conditions and road reports before departure.
• Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean.
• Maintain vehicle as needed (refuel, check oil, tire pressure, etc)
• Notify managers of any major maintenance issues encountered.
• Track and report working hours.
• Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to weather/road conditions.
• Performs related duties as assigned
• Maintains compliance with all company policies and procedures
Education, Skills and/or Work Experience Requirements:• Must have a clean driving record.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and traffic laws
• Previous experience driving a triaxle dump truck preferred
• CDL A or B License
• At least 1 year of experience
Physical Requirements:• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination
