Responsibilities
- Assigned to the Department's Operations Division; Firefighters are assigned to an Engine Company or a Rescue Squad vehicle.
- Responds to but not limited to the following: fire incidents, emergency medical incidents, fire alarms, hazardous materials, rescue operations including various types of rescue incidents such as high angle, confined space, trench, vehicle extrication, and building collapse.
- Follow Centerra Group and FEMS III SOPs/SOGs.
- Inspect vehicles, equipment, and consumables for which they are assigned each duty shift.
- Meet all requirements for the position of Firefighter as well as Paramedic, participate in all assigned training and associated duties as a member of the Department's Operations Division including any/all fire ground assignments.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- IFSAC Firefighter I and II
- IFSAC Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operations
- Missouri Paramedic License
- NREMT-P
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification
- NIMS ICS 100, 200, 700, 800
- Must be a US citizen (or have proof of legal authorization to work in the United States)
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have completed high school or have GED equivalent
- Must be literate in English
- Valid state driver's license with good driving record

Physical RequirementsMay be required to lift and carry awkward items weighing up to 50 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the workday. Ability to lift heavy objects or persons in the course of rescue; ability to climb ladders, haul hose while wearing required protective clothing/gear; operate extrication equipment.
