Consolidated Asset Management Services Texas, LLC is Hiring a Senior Control Room Operator Near Houston, TX

This position is defined as "Remote" because the Control Room Operator will remotely control operations from a distance. However, this position will report to an office location in downtown Houston.

The Senior CRO is responsible for the monitoring and controlling operation of all Plant equipment under their control in accordance with written plant procedures complying with all applicable NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) standards under the supervision of the ROC Shift Lead. Adheres to guidance of ROC Shift Lead but also works collaboratively by providing years of experience to improve shift efficiency and productivity. In the absence of specific orders and/or directives, the Senior CRO exercises initiative, using experience, training provided and good judgment.

The Senior CRO operates from established and well-known procedures and can be self-reliant with minimal supervision. Decisions are made within prescribed operating procedures and guidelines combined with directives from the ROC Shift Lead. The Senior CRO encounters recurring work situations of high complexity, with occasional variations from the norm.

The Senior CRO communicates effectively with ROC leadership, SCADA engineers and plant personnel to provide suggestions and recommendations where they see the need for improvement. The Senior CRO must perform duties in such a way resulting in the continued growth and success of CAMS and CAMS ROC.

During periods when operations are in standstill, the Senior CRO will review, evaluate, and develop all current and ongoing procedures, assist with establishing training programs, provide education and instruction for Junior operators and other team members in conjunction with ROC Shift Lead and ROC Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proficient in real-time control center operations monitoring and the performance of each asset under CAMS ROC including applying establish procedures that guarantee the safety of those assets and on-site personnel while maximizing availability and generation in compliance with NERC standards and practices.
  • Perform regular, per-site checks to ensure quality and accuracy of alarm points’ real-time telemetered generation information.
  • Evaluates system alarms and irregularities, taking corrective action as outlined in established guidelines to troubleshoot generation faults and restore plant to normal operating conditions.
  • Contact field personnel and other third-party entities to apply set-point deviations, curtailments or respond to emergency situations as required.
  • Documents and logs all system events during shift as well as effectively communicates all new information to all team members and ROC leadership.
  • Reports scheduled, unscheduled and forced outages to regional QSEs responsible for the plant.
  • Uses trend data from various SCADA programs to provide weekly or monthly reports to plants in accordance with communication protocols established by applicable Asset Managers.
  • Team up with ROC leadership, SCADA engineers and IT professionals to recommend implementations to SCADA UI and displays.
  • Assist with development of training programs to increase the efficiency and capabilities of entry-level Junior operators as well as current team members.
  • Performance of duties requires working DuPont schedule with availability for overtime shifts as required.
  • Additional duties as required.
