Consolidated Asset Management Services Texas, LLC is Hiring an I&E Technician Near Fellows, CA

The Sunrise Power Project is a 585 MW simple-cycle, natural gas-fired facility in Fellows, California. The Instrumentation & Electrical Technician is responsible for station instrumentation, controls, and electrical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting. This position is considered a recognized technical expert and will be expected to ensure the safe, regulatory compliant, efficient, and reliable operation of the facility. The I&E Technician reports to the Plant Operations & Maintenance Manager and technical support services to all personnel.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of complex technical service/support duties requiring specialized knowledge.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all plant electrical equipment as required to support plant operation.
  • Provide leadership and job coordination on critical repairs or projects, as well as routine activities as required.
  • Assist in vendor resource planning including requisitioning parts and supplies.
  • Assist in NERC compliance maintenance activities.
  • Maintain a clean and safe shop and plant environment.
  • Performance of duties requires response to calls 24 hours/day, seven days/week and working irregular shifts.
  • Recognize safety hazards and follow safety guidelines for personal protection, protection of fellow workers and the protection of the public.
  • Performs preventative maintenance duties on all major equipment and systems as well as emergency back-up systems.
  • Works on plant distributed control system, including troubleshooting and configuration changes.
  • Maintains emissions monitoring equipment as required by air permits.
  • Knowledgeable of environmental rules and regulations, and effectively apply them to all work situations.
  • Work with limited supervision.
  • Follow safety procedures, observe safe working practices, and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Inspect, service, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, test and maintain automated control systems, continuous emission monitors, plant instrumentation and electrical systems.
  • Inspects, tests, repairs, replaces as necessary all types of motors, generators, transformers, switches, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communications systems and storage batteries.
  • Diagnose abnormal equipment conditions and respond calmly in emergency situations to correct problems.
  • Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on equipment up to 230 kV.
  • Read, write, understand, and maintain equipment logs, operational logs, work orders, procedures, timesheets, expense reports, requisitions and other documentation as required.
  • Maintain drawings, specifications, test logs and other records. Read and respond to written instructions and logbook notations. Check e-mail, acknowledgements of information, and other computer-generated documents.
  • Work with other plant personnel to plan and coordinate maintenance activities and outages.
  • Research equipment manuals and requisition repair parts. Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on equipment. Maintain tool inventories and supplies to perform such tasks.
  • Tutor, instruct, train, and assist other personnel as required.
  • Maintain a positive company image and constructive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Travel for training and/or other company business. This includes travel by automobile and commercial airlines.
  • Operate company vehicles including trucks, forklifts, and other mobile equipment.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed.
