JOB DESCRIPTION:

Maintain sewage treatment plants and water wells throughout the District.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Daily checks and inspections of water and wastewater plant or plants.
• Record daily readings as required by law.
• Collect and submit samples as needed.
• Complete, submit, and file monthly reports and all related records in a timely manner.
• Make repairs and/or see that repairs on equipment are completed.
• Correct unsafe conditions in work area and immediately report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor.
• Keep plants, equipment, and tools in clean and safe operating condition.
• Perform preventative maintenance on plants and equipment.
• Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
• Receive and complete work orders electronically.
• Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
• Respond to emergency calls as needed and be on-call/stand-by as assigned by supervisor.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Regular attendance.
• Other duties assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

• Three (3) years of verifiable employment as a Wastewater and Water Operator

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification

• High School Diploma or GED
• Current Class C Wastewater Operator and Class C Water Operator’s license or obtain within one year of employment
• Valid Texas driver’s license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.00 per hour
