POSITION TITLE:
Title I Student Support Instructional Coach
JOB DESCRIPTION:

Serve as a District Instructional Coach for the Student Support Services Department.

This supplemental position has been approved for the 2024-2025 school year. This supplemental position is 100% funded under the ESSA Title I, Part A program and will require time and effort in the form of biannual certification. In the absence of Title I, Part A funds and/or the needs of the district, continuation of this position can be rescinded.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide leadership and demonstrates an in depth understanding of the Conroe ISD Instructional Model and best practices in all content areas, including behavior, for at-risk students in all settings.
  • Provide leadership and demonstrate an in depth knowledge of PBIS at the school wide, classroom, and individual student level.
  • Develop and provide district-wide and campus professional learning related to Tier I Best practices and MTSS (including PBIS and RtI) at all grade levels and all settings.
  • Provide support to teachers, administrators and campus leadership teams to build capacity in PBIS and RtI.
  • Evaluate, analyze, and disaggregate district and campus data as related to discipline, RtI Tier II/III interventions, and student progress monitoring to implement improvements.
  • Support the implementation of Branching Minds.
  • Demonstrate commitment to assisting teachers in improving classroom management through coaching cycles and ongoing support.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to create behavior plans for students.
  • Recommend ways in which curriculum and instruction can be differentiated to meet the special learning needs of struggling learners.
  • Provide assistance and support to campuses in crisis situations.
  • Problem solve in difficult situations.
  • Take initiative with curriculum, instruction, and professional learning activities.
  • Model consistent instructional leadership to the highest level.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Superintendents, Director and Coordinator of Student Support Services, and district staff on issues and concerns.
  • Demonstrate steps taken for professional growth.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Three years of successful classroom teaching experience in Title I schools
  • Experience in facilitating and/or working with teams
  • Successful experience in working with students with behavioral challenges
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and grade levels assigned
  • CPI certification (must obtain within 30 days of hiring and maintain yearly certification)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Knowledge of Tier I Best Practices in the area of Differentiated Instruction, Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS) as related to classroom and behavior management for at-risk students
  • Understanding of the core principles of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), including Response to Intervention (RtI)
  • Understanding of data collection as it pertains to academics, behavior, interventions, and decision-making
  • Strong knowledge of instructional strategies for at-risk students
  • Ability to manage crisis situations
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
  • Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Experience in developing and presenting professional learning

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Regular district-wide travel to student homes and multiple work locations as assigned. May be required to lift and transfer students to and from wheelchair or assist with positioning students with physical disabilities.
