Job SummaryJob DescriptionDelaware Basin OverviewSpanning West Texas through Southeast New Mexico, ConocoPhillips holds approximately 709,000 total net acres in the Delaware Basin, which includes approximately 699,000 unconventional net acres. ConocoPhillips began exploring and appraising the basin’s stacked pay potential in 2012 and has gained extensive technical expertise to optimize development. Entering 2023, the company now operates over 2,800 wells throughout the Basin.
In 2022, the company operated an average of 10 drilling rigs, including one electric rig, and 153 new operated wells were brought online. Net production in 2022 averaged 321 MBOED.

DescriptionIf you are selected as the Lead Pipeline Operator you will lead a team of pipeline operators and contractors executing the daily operations and maintenance activities for the company’s pipelines.
This is a Safety Sensitive position.
Responsibilities may include:
  • Accountable for the safety of every person on the job site and the execution of the operation and/or maintenance activity as planned
  • Collaborate with key support groups and customers to ensure goal alignment with Asset & Operating Integrity (A&OI) programs & Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) requirements
  • Work with Operations to coordinate and ensure accurate prioritization of work
  • Mentor & train pipeline operators (company, contingent and contract)
  • Establish and/or update procedures and guidelines as directed by the Pipeline Supervisor.
  • Ensure that all work activities are performed according to the established procedures, guidelines, and schedules
  • Managing job assignments for pipeline operators & contractors
  • Identify requirements to maintain appropriate skills for company and contract personnel
  • Manage data and information and prepare reports to communicate
  • Support the Pipeline Supervisor with audits, assessments, and regulatory inspections.
  • Understand and apply safety and environmental standards and actively ensure compliance by all personnel
  • Work with operations and maintenance groups to ensure regulatory required preventive maintenance and pigging is completed within time constraints
  • Actively participate in safety processes and emergency response drills and events.
  • Perform pipeline O&M activities as needed
  • Perform any other activities as directed by the Pipeline Supervisor or Production Infrastructure Superintendent
Basic/Required:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Current/Valid Driver's License
  • 5 years of pipeline operations & maintenance experience
  • 1 years of leadership experience
  • Willing and able to perform/align with following (with or without reasonable accommodation): Climb various ladders and stairs up to 50 feet in height to perform maintenance on equipment, Raise and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds, Walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material daily on even and uneven terrain, Work outside in harsh weather conditions, Work alone a high percentage of the time, Wear personal protective equipment (PPE), Work unscheduled overtime
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 25% on a yearly basis.
Preferred:
  • 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
  • 1 years of experience with Federal or State regulations or regulators
  • 1 years of experience with DOT regulated pipelines
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word
  • Intermediate proficiency with SAP, SAP-PM, GIS, etc
  • Strong organization and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and self-disciplined with the ability to lead a team and work independently across organizational boundaries
  • Detail-oriented with commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement
  • Ability to set and achieve goals, manage priorities, and complete projects with limited supervision
  • Transmits information so it is received and understood in the way it was intended
  • Ability to collect accurate and meaningful data and extract trends and useful information to help improve operations
  • Understands work order management, planning, and scheduling
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft O365 applications: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Word
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what is right
  • Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
  • Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
