Job Summary
Lower 48 Overview
The Lower 48 represents the largest ConocoPhillips business segment today based on production, with high-quality positions in the U.S. unconventionals. These low cost of supply and low GHG-intensity assets have significant upside potential.
The company's large Lower 48 position of 10.3 million net acres, including unconventional holdings of approximately 1.7 million net acres, represents scalable inventory with low cost of supply and low GHG emissions intensity with the potential to generate significant returns over many years of future development. Current major focus areas for the Lower 48 include the Delaware and Midland Basins, part of the world-class Permian Basin, as well as the Eagle Ford and Bakken.
In 2022, net crude oil production was 534 MBOED.
Description
If you are selected as the Management System HSE Coordinator for L48 H&S Programs and Performance, you will be responsible for supporting the Lower 48 operations through the effective implementation and coordination of the Health, Safety, and Environment Management System. The role will actively engage with various stakeholders to promote HSE Management System compliance and drive continuous HSE performance improvement.
The position will report directly to the Lower 48 H&S Programs and Performance Manager and work closely with all Lower 48 functions to support the successful accomplishment of the Lower 48 business objectives and drive compliance with HSE requirements.
Job Description
Responsibilities may include:
  • Leading and participating in the review, development, and implementation of the HSE Management System
  • Providing consultation and technical support to field Safety Specialists to support the L48 HSE Management System
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of the HSE Management System, and developing innovative solutions to solve complex HSE issues
  • Leading/participating in incident investigations and learning teams, and preparing findings suitable for management review
  • Using full knowledge of incident management requirements and the Intelex database to assist operations in inputting, tracking, trending, and closing of incidents
  • Participating in the HSE auditing process whether it be preparing for an external audit or participating in an internal audit (Tier 2 or contractor audit)
  • Gathering, maintaining, and analyzing datasets for the purposes of incident and non-conformance management, this includes all leading and lagging data
  • Championing the data analytics solutions and technologies and deliver data visualizations used for data driven decision making
  • Supporting Crisis Management and Emergency Response activities including preparation, training, plan development and incident support
Basic/Required:
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Current/Valid driver's license
  • 7 years of experience in the upstream energy industry
  • 7 years of experience with HSE and Operations Management Systems, including document reviews and auditing
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel throughout the Lower 48 up to 10% of the time on a yearly basis
Preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Safety, Environmental Sciences, other related field, or foreign equivalent
  • Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
  • 1 years of experience with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Sharepoint, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Intermediate level of proficiency to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with planning, organizing and conducting multiple concurrent projects and activities
  • Basic level of proficiency with learning new technologies quickly and using them in data analytics solutions
  • Basic level of proficiency writing and editing technical documents and procedures
  • Listens actively and invites new ideas for exchanged opinions, then influences and acts to drive positive performance and achieve results
  • Builds positive relationships based on trust and seeks collaboration across organizational boundaries to achieve goals
  • Drives thoughtful and pragmatic change, inspires innovative thinking and continuous improvement, and models adaptability through resourcefulness, flexibility, and positivity
  • Delivers positive results through realistic planning to accomplish goals
