Job Summary Eagle Ford Overview

The liquids-rich Eagle Ford tight oil trend, located in the Western Gulf Coast Basin of South Texas, represents the company's second-most prolific unconventional resource development.

ConocoPhillips was one of the first companies into the liquids play, resulting in a low-cost entry into this acreage. In 2009, the company began exploring the development potential of this play and by year-end 2022 held approximately 199,000 net leasehold and mineral acres, primarily in DeWitt, Karnes, and Live Oak counties.

During 2022, 153 operated wells were brought online, bringing total wells online at year-end to more than 1,700. Net production in 2022 averaged 220 MBOED.

Description

If you are selected as the Eagle Ford I&E Construction Specialist, you will be responsible for the oversight of Construction operations in the Eagle Ford Asset.

This role manages the tactical execution of individual projects while assisting the Construction I&E Superintendent in management of the strategic direction of the GCR Construction Management Group.

The overall goal is to ensure that jobsite operations comply with design specifications, are completed on schedule, within budget, and adhere to quality standards while ensuring the protection of the crafts on site.

This role will serve as the asset field contact for engineering, contractors, fabricators, and vendors for instrumentation and controls.

Position is based in the ConocoPhillips Kenedy, Texas field office.

Job Description

Responsibilities may include :

  • Leader of safety 100% of the time in accordance to industry standards and the L48 HSE Manual and participates in human safety and technical process learnings
  • Lead project site construction as the operations and contractor responsible person
  • Lead and oversee the day to day activities of project leads
  • Lead site quality to industry and company standards and specifications
  • Optimize designs early in project reviews to ensure smooth execution and commissioning and start-up (CSU)
  • Track contractor progress daily to ensure issues and milestone completion dates
  • Review and approve the WorkPack before handover to the contractor
  • Review and approve the contractor QA / QC and ITP before handover to the contractor
  • Lead, review and sign-off on Function Check-Out, Pre-Commissioning and PSSR's prior to startup of new facilities
  • Report on the progress and time / costs as needed by the program or project
  • Support operations during commissioning and start-up
  • Provide input, when required, in process hazard analysis (PHA) and safeguard evaluations
  • Align the project and the risk management process, when required, in risk sessions
  • Ability to share how projects follow the procedures and processes in varied audits
  • Familiar with project equipment to lead a factory acceptance tests (FAT) and field inspections
  • Manage multiple sites and contractors in program, base work and new builds scopes
  • Review / approve vendor invoices
  • Collaborate with the capital project mechanical and pipeline groups to ensure alignment of activities

Basic / Required :

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Current / valid driver's license
  • 10 years of Construction instrumentation and controls (I&E) experience within the Oil and Gas industry
  • 5 years of experience leading I&E Construction crews at sites
  • 3 years of experience working in the trades as a I&E technician / general worker
  • Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform / align with the following : Climb various ladders and stairs ranging in heights up to 50 feet to perform maintenance on equipment;
  • Lift and transport articles weighing up to 50 pounds; Walk, stand, stoop, sit, climb, and carry material daily on even and uneven terrain;

Work outside in temperature extremes or adverse weather conditions

Willing and able (with or without reasonable accommodation) to travel 10% of the time on a yearly basis

Preferred :

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Construction or foreign equivalent
  • 5 years of Oil and Gas SCADA Automation Controls & software
  • 5 years of Automation Controls experience
  • 5 years of Fisher 107 / 827 RTU's and Allen Bradley PLC programming experience
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Good written, verbal, and computer skills
  • Orientated toward continuous process improvement
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments by holding others accountable and standing up for what's right
  • Listens actively and invites new ideas for exchanged opinions, then influences and acts to drive positive performance and achieve results
  • Builds effective solutions based on available information and makes timely decisions that are safe and ethical
