HVAC Technical Support Specialist, permanent, Providence, RI –Hybrid

· Hybrid- 2 days remote, 3 on site

· M-F 8-5

· Parking provided

· Must have an understanding of plumbing/HVAC

· Open to a few different backgrounds:

o Call center reps for plumbing/HVAC company

o Plumbers/HVAC Techs that want to get out of the basement and troubleshoot over the phone

o New grads coming out of trade school/technical program specializing in plumbing/HVAC (I.e. Diamond Regional, NEIT, MTTI, etc.)

· Extensive training provided.

· Call center environment- headset, calls all day from customers or techs in the field. Troubleshoot what’s going on. Background in plumbing/HVAC makes it easier

· Thick skin- Contractors can be abrasive/very direct. Have to be able to shake that off and be professional.

· Salesforce experience is a plus

TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST
The role within the Technical Support Team, will focus on these main activities:

• Handling a high volume of customer telephone requests for technical assistance.
• Demonstrate knowledge of technical product specifications and water heater fundamentals and be able to communicate this information to customers via phone or email.
• Exhibiting diplomacy in stressful situations while being adaptable to changes and creating goodwill with internal and external customers.
• Explain and interpret warranties to customers as they apply to products.
• Provide training to associates on products when required.
• Maintaining accurate records and data.

The ideal candidate has a background in HVAC or Plumbing, and at minimum completion of high school/GED. They will also have:

• A preferred Technical or Vocational Degree
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC and combustion test equipment
• Solid mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work flexible hours when required.
• Usage of Salesforce.com, as a plus
• Other duties as assigned.
