Connections Healthcare Staffing is Hiring an Athletic Trainer (2 local High Schools) Near Charleston, TN

Our client, a 100 bed hospital located within 2 hrs of Great Smoky Mountains area of TN, within an hour of Knoxville and Chattanooga, has a need for an Athletic Trainer to join their team. This will be in a high school setting.

Our Athletic Trainer department is currently seeking talent to fill the position Athletic Trainer. This job is permanent, full-time. You will be mostly at local high schools covering 2 high schools. It appears the hours can vary depending on sporting events and practices. I believe through the week it would mostly be afternoons. If there is coverage needed on the weekend those could be mornings and/or afternoons.

Core competencies for the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepares athletes for practice or competition.
  • Evaluates and manages injuries and determines whether a referral is necessary. Maintains a medical file on each athlete and acts as a liaison between the physician and the athlete.
  • Implements treatment and rehabilitation programs under the supervision of a physician.
  • Develops conditioning programs for injured and noninjured athletes.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s of Science Degree or higher in Athletic Training Required

Practice under the supervision of a physician Required

Required License

Current Athletic Trainer Required

Required Skills/Certifications:

BLS certifications will be required at the time of hire

Hiking, fishing and camping are also available at Bald River Falls and in the Cherokee National Forest.
