Connecticut Renaissance is Hiring a Group Facilitator Near Waterbury, CT

Summary:

  • The Group Facilitator is responsible for providing group therapy to clients in CT Renaissance's residential co-occurring program. The Group Facilitator will deliver person-centered, culturally-responsive, trauma-informed services for individuals with substance use and/or co-occurring disorders. Interventions delivered will include, but not be limited to psychoeducational groups, skill building, recovery skills, relapse prevention, and co-occurring disorders. Facilitator is responsible for managing and delivering group content, maintaining client documentation and meeting funder requirements for service delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate a wide array of substance use and mental health oriented groups.
  • Utilize motivational enhancement and engagement strategies appropriate to the individual's stage of readiness and desire to change.
  • Input all clinical documentation in Connecticut Renaissance's EHR accurately and timely.
  • Communicate with treatment team on the status of each client's progress and performance within the program.
  • Participate in all required internal and external meetings.
  • Provide urinalysis/breathalyzer testing when indicated and within guidelines of monitoring.
  • Attend all required trainings to enhance knowledge and skill level
  • Participate in regularly scheduled clinical supervisions
  • Adhere to licensing, accreditation and funding source requirements.
  • Assist with the development of group content.
  • Assist with daily residential tasks including but not limited to head-count, tours, medication monitoring, log book maintenance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

Knowledge Of:

  • Treatment of substance use and co-occurring disorders.
  • Residential treatment and milieu.
  • Documentation within an Electronic Health Record.
  • Group therapy process and content.

Ability To:

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Manage priorities effectively to meet deadlines and demonstrate multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to employ effective organizational skills to meet goals.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Behavioral Health, Psychology, or Human Services.
  • Minimum of 3 years of working experience in behavioral health field.
  • Experience in trauma informed care preferred.
  • Experience with substance abuse clients, co-occurring diagnosed clients preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid Certified

Other:

  • Must be dependable and reliable; detailed oriented; and able to interface easily with clients, staff, and referral sources.
  • Must be able to meet routine office physical demands including climbing stairs, carrying up to 20 pound objects and possess the dexterity and vision to operate office computers and equipment.
  • Must successfully complete the introductory probationary employment period.
  • Valid CT driver's license.
