Throughout its 140 years, the Connecticut Humane Society (CHS) has been at the forefront of animal welfare. And that involves so much more than providing shelter to homeless pets! With the powerful human-animal bond at the heart of CHS' work, the organization works hard to keep pets out of shelters and with the families who already know and love them through pet food pantries, access to reduced-fee veterinary care and more.
CHS is currently looking for a part-time, defined as 20 hours a week, Community Assistance Programs Coordinator. This position will be based out of the Newington location, however there will be travel between the other location (Waterford and Westport) as well as other designated distribution sites. Some of the duties of this position are as follows:
There will be a strong administrative component to this position, including but not limited to inventory management, researching, budgeting, logistic support and maintenance of program records.

Position Type: Part Time - 20 hours
Pay Type: Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Pay Range: $17.00-20.00/HR US
Days / Hours of Operation: 20 hours per week taking place within the hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:30pm, some night work may be required but will into the scheduled 20 hours.
Overview: This part-time position is ideal for someone who likes being a part of a busy team and is able to effectively meet clients where they are most comfortable via phone/email/in-person communications. Prior experience working a community outreach or a public facing position. Prior experience in providing excellent customer service. This position includes nights as needed. Position will also require travel within Connecticut, so the individual must have a valid driver's license and be able to be insured under CHS insurance.
