SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Sr Director CCSG Operations, ensures that the staff in the Primary Care Center
adhere to best practices and implements operational changes. Provides leadership, direction and
administration of operations to ensure optimal use of all resources to maintain high standards of patient care,
promote patient/family satisfaction, and support all teaching programs in the Practice.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
OPERATIONS:
Work closely with Sr Director CCSG Operations to ensure that processes are consistent with those at
Connecticut Children's. Responsible for meeting operational performance benchmarks. Responsible for
optimal productivity within budgetary guidelines.
Responsible for implementing operational changes resulting from Connecticut Children's strategic initiatives.
Responsible for overall compliance relating to but not limited to billing, staff behaviors, new business
ventures and audit process. Collaborates with the Compliance department to ensure documentation
standards are met.
COMMUNICATIONS:
Responsible for handling customer complaints and proactively address issues to ensure a family centered
environment. Maintains two way communications with referring providers and addresses their needs in his or
her departments.
NURSING LEADERSHIP:
Identifies RN staff’s educational needs and provides or arranges to meet those needs, including overseeing
the orientation period in conjunction with the Clinical Education Department. Works with Manager of
Ambulatory Nursing to ensure consistency of nursing policies and procedures with the ambulary setting.
HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:
Designs, establishes and maintains a staffing plan that effectively accomplishes the practice’s goals and
objectives. Participates in and provides oversight to the selection of employees. Provides appropriate
development opportunities to ensure staff is competent in performing their assigned functions and
continually improving their performance. Communicates expectations, provides ongoing coaching/feedback,
objectively assess and/or provides input to employee performance and provide appropriate rewards and
recognition. Oversee department retention initiatives.
FISCAL MANAGEMENT:
Develops and effectively manages the practice's operating and capital budgets to meet practice and
organizational financial and service objectives. Justify budget variances and flex budget, as needed,
throughout the fiscal period. Actively seeks opportunities to generate revenue, decrease expenses and
develop new business initiatives.
CONTINUOUS QUALITY IMPROVEMENT:
Designs and implements new procedures to improve effectiveness and efficiency of the practice. Holds self
and team members accountable for quality outcomes and continuous quality improvement.
SELF DEVELOPMENT:
Establish and maintain self as a professional expert and resource to the Organization, patients, families and

Supervises clinical and administrative staff in support of the Primary Care Center. Participate in appropriate professional organizations and continuing education programs.
