Connect for Health has a great opportunity for a Junior Product Designer.

Connect for Health Colorado is a public, non-profit entity established by the Colorado General Assembly in 2011 to create a health insurance Marketplace. Since 2013, we’ve been helping individuals, families, and small employers compare plans, apply for financial help, and buy health insurance. As Colorado’s official health insurance marketplace, we are the only place to apply for financial help to lower the monthly cost of premiums. Customers can shop online; get help by phone or online chat from Customer Service Center representatives; and access expert help from a statewide network of certified Brokers and community-based Assisters. Position Summary:

The junior product designer is responsible for assisting in the creation and design of cutting-edge, user-friendly products that meet customer expectations. They aid with the development of products by improving their design, usability, and functionality. In this capacity, they oversee creating design concepts, sketching, prototyping, and conducting user research. They also assist with the construction of presentations, prototypes, and finished products. Overall, a junior product designer is an important member of the design team whose work ensures that the finished product meets the needs and expectations of the target audience. 

Position Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product design team to conceptualize and design new products.
• Create sketches, mockups, and prototypes of product designs.
• Ensure that product designs are in line with company standards and brand guidelines.
• Research end users, industry trends, and competitor products to inform product design.
• Work with cross-functional teams, including product management, operations, and QA to bring designs to life.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to other team members.
• Continuously refine and improve product designs based on customer feedback.

Requirements

• Colorado resident
• Formal education in design, user research, or customer experience required. 
• 0-2 years of experience in product design.
• Experience with Agile preferred. 
• Strong sketching and prototyping skills.
• Proficiency in design software such as Figma.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Passion for design and creating innovative products.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of our system and highly sensitive information.

Work Environment:

• Currently working remotely.
• The Connect for Health Colorado office is in the North Tech Center area of Denver, near the intersection of I-25 and I-225.
• Work schedule may include some non-traditional hours, weekends, and evening events.
• Core office hours, typically 8 am-5 pm with some flexibility. 

Total Compensation:

Connect for Health Colorado offers a competitive benefits package. Employees are offered a robust benefits package and may elect from various offerings to tailor a package best suited to their individual needs. Connect for Health Colorado employees are eligible to participate in the organization’s 403(b) plan and are additionally provided with paid time off, short- and long-term disability and life insurance. The salary range is $65,800 - $81,200.
