JOB DESCRIPTION: Housekeeper CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt, hourly

QUALIFICATIONS:

Interest in maintaining a clean and safe environment. Must be able to read, write and speak English and follow verbal/written directions, including product labels, department procedures, and instructions. High school diploma or equivalency is required. Must be able to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff. Past experience in similar work is helpful, but not required.

Ability to bend, stand or walk for long periods of time, able to lift and/or transfer up to 25 pounds, and able to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals. Capable of safe machinery and equipment operation. Must be available for work as scheduled.

To ensure all priorities are met, time management skills and the ability to work independently in an organized manner is essential.

Familiarity with cleaning and disinfecting materials is important to determine what products to use for specific cleaning needs. Must be thorough with cleaning and sanitizing practices.

BASIC FUNCTIONS:

The housekeeper is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all resident rooms, hallways, windows and doors throughout the building, and ensures that rooms are clean, comfortable, and maintained in an attractive manner in accordance with the policies and procedures of Harpending Housing, Inc., d. b. a. Clinton Crest Manor and with the New York State Department of Health regulations.

Pay: $15.75 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week
