Description

Summary Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of Provider by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Provides front-office assistance. Provide telephone coverage, greet patients and schedule appointments. Other duties as assigned.

· Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts.

· Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.

· Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.

· Hands instruments and materials to provider as directed

· Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.

· Performs x-rays (based on certification), electrocardiograph (EKG), and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic test or calls medical facility or department to schedule patients for tests.

· Gives injections or treatments, and performs routine laboratory tests.

· Register patients in all required information systems. 

· Schedules appointments, receives money for bills, keeps x-ray and other medical records, performs secretarial tasks, and completes insurance forms.

· Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records.

· Maintain all required clinic logs.

· Responsible for completing all prior authorizations.

· All other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bilingual preferred
