This internship is a part of CONMED TALENT LAUNCH – a hands on, immersive program designed to provide students with the exposure, experience and development needed to launch a successful career at CONMED. At CONMED, our Packaging Engineering team works to ensure that our diverse offering of medical device products are manufactured and packaged in a way that maintains safety, quality, and sterility. These efforts directly contribute to the continued accessibility and reliability of our products for our healthcare customers around the world. We are seeking a student with a specific interest in packaging science and engineering to join the Largo, FL based Packaging Engineering Team for an internship during Summer 2024. This internship will provide you with the opportunity to apply learned skills and knowledge in a specialized environment, such as project management, packaging design, performance testing, process development and professional communications. Your responsibilities will range across several initiatives including: Implementing new packaging system designs for New Product Introduction projects Providing solutions for lean manufacturing initiatives Contributing to the implementation of new production equipment This is a great opportunity for students interested in medical device packaging and taking on real responsibilities at a growing medical device company! The intern’s responsibilities will include: Partner with manufacturing process teams to implement new designs, automation, and process changes quickly and effectively. Document and complete packaging process verification and validations Assist with in-process packaging systems engineering processes, and testing Execute creation, approval and transfer of Packaging ECO tasks Develop relationships with CONMED packaging suppliers This role requires a driven and responsible team player who can think creatively while keeping business objectives front of mind. Position Requirements: Must be pursuing completion of a bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science or Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering. Preference will be given to packaging focused areas of study. Must be available to work onsite in Largo, Florida, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, May 20, 2024 – July 26, 2024. Preference will be given to candidates who are available to extend their internship duration through the end of 2024. Disclosure as required by applicable law, the hourly pay rate for this position is $19.00 to $31.00. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and skill level. The salary range is CONMED’s good faith belief at the time of this posting.
