Congressional Federal Credit Union is Hiring a Loan Advisor Near Oakton, VA

The Loan Advisor contacts and assist members with the disbursement of their consumer loans and fulfill approved cross sell opportunities.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Contacts approved member loan applicants, to obtain necessary documentation in order to prepare the loan for disbursement; responds to member phone calls and inquiries; and finalizes the terms and conditions of approval with members while determining if approval meets their financial needs.
  • Follows up on to capture approved loans and meets loan capture goals.
  • Prepares and reviews all loan documents for completeness prior to disbursement; ensures total accuracy of all loan documents; and follows credit policies, procedures, and all applicable federal regulations, including, but not limited to, ECOA and Fair Lending.
  • Explains loan products and services to members and evaluates their financial needs.
  • Recognizes and pursues cross sell opportunities, recommends loan options to members, and performs follow up on outbound loan promotions and calling campaigns.
  • Participates in sales development activities, and other duties as assigned.

Experience and Desired Skills:

  • Two to Five years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school degree, however a college degree preferred.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position.
  • In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience.
  • Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.
  • Must demonstrate experience working in a fast paced, sales environment.
  • Employee must possess a high degree of self-motivation and initiative.
  • Employee must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have a high degree of attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate with staff, members and the public.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and to occasionally lift and move items up to 20 lbs. in weight.
